Car won't catch any gear other than reverse

My cars automatic transmission went out and only
the reverse still worked. After having my friend
that's an ex mechanic completely rebuild my
tranny and even replaced some of my cellanoids.
We tried to put it in the low gear's first and it didn't
catch so we then pumped fluid through so it would
go through each gear and it still won't catch any
forward gear only the reverse. I don't understand
what to do?

I think you need to have that tranny rebuilt again, there is no telling what the first guy did...

Check the fluid level but your trans is probably shot. Friends are for shooting hoops with, NOT rebuilding automatic transmissions!!!
