I had a 1993 325i. Ask about maintenance history. Mine looked beautiful at 150K+ miles and still drove ok, but ended up needing some parts that would have cost more than the car was worth. Clutch, rear control arm, brake discs + pads, 2 tires, etc.etc. add up real quick. The sun roof kept acting up until I just quit using it.

These cars are like iPhones you can end up with a bad apple, I'm a lady and first step is the right maintenance of your bmw it will live past those miles, if you check the oil of the car and know how to check it electronically it's easy to do the car will let you know just don't ignore the signs on your dash. Give it tlc every 5,000 miles by changing oils filters, checking the cooling system and brakes. Mine has 75,000 so far so good
