I spent $400 last year to have a suspension bar replaced because my car was making a noise that sounds like it's coming from underneath the car. After repair, it started back almost immediately, and very gradually got worse again. It doesn't start until after the car has been driven a few miles. It starts off gradually and sounds almost like popcorn popping to begin with and then get louder and then sounds more like clanging. I can park the car for an hour, get back in, and again nothing at first, and then it starts again. Any ideas?

Maybe a catalytic convertor heat shield that is loose?
