Valve stem seals

Asked by dreamque May 28, 2019 at 09:16 AM about the 2011 BMW 7 Series 750Li xDrive AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2011 750li 75,000 miles has been in the
shop for 3 months. They took the engine out
and in the process said my engine block was
cracked at the weaker areas where the
transmission connects. Tried to tell me that
they are not responsible for it. I told the to
finish the  valve stem job and put it back
together. Not they are saying it’s running
rough and will try to get it back together. Was
it necessary for them to take the entire
engine out to do the valve stem seal repair?
It’s running rough and just want my car fixed?

1 Answer

Some shops take the engine out. Some do it in the car. Is up to the shop. Quotes are different for both.
