Stall and advance trac warning

Asked by EwaBeachEdge Mar 08, 2016 at 03:32 PM about the 2011 Ford Edge Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2011 Edge died on me while idle at a
stop light. Took it to dealer who replaced
coils at 1100$.drove car home and same
problem persisted. THEN they miraculously
fixed warranty covered brake booster
recall. I drove home and car started
shaking at 50mph, could barely accelerate,
brakes made horrific grinding sound when
applied. Rotors red hot and horrible
burning smell. Towed for second time back
to Honolulu Ford. Advance trac light came
on during last episode. Help!

Sounds like you might want to find another repair shop and decide if you want to take this shop to court. Even though the car is 5 years old, you may also want to contact Ford directly.

I am having the same issue on my 2011 Ford Edge. Please let me know if they were able to fix the issue with no accelerating and brakes grinding.

RickNSher. Did you ever find out the problem? I have a 2011 edge as well. And recently. If I sit idol or even while driving and stop and go. My car will throw the advance trac light and almost lock down. Can’t accelerate and brakes are locked. Turn car off and sit for 10 min. And it then runs fine
