PCV valve problem

Asked by Kbs22588 Jan 03, 2017 at 06:56 PM about the 2010 Volvo XC60 3.2

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just went in for an oil change service
appointment and brake pad change, and
the next day noticed a loud squealing
noise from under the hood. After some
research, I believe I've narrowed the
problem down to an issue with the PCV
valve. The squealing stops when the
dipstick is removed and I had to put extra
oil in my car prior to my regular oil change.
My question is, should this have been
noticed during my service appointment? I
literally noticed it the next day and having
issues arise RIGHT after my service
appointments at the Volvo dealership has
been a recurring problem.

Strange but I would check the oil level and maybe go ahead and replace the PCV. Make sure it is not the serpentine belt.

Volvo's are among the worst on reliability after a few years old. I do not think it is something they overlooked or wronged you in some way with intent.
