Spark plug wire Ford Fiesta

Asked by Guru9N64B Jul 07, 2017 at 01:35 PM about the 2011 Ford Fiesta SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have been having some misfires in my
2011 Ford Fiesta. I changed the spark
plugs and the ignition coil and there is still
some misfiring. When I changed the
ignition coil I noticed that the cylinder 2
wire was black on the inside. All the other
wires were shiny goldish. Cylinder 2 is the
misfire code I am getting. Should I try
changing the wires next? Or is there
something else that it could be?

I would change the spark plug leads. You can check the resistance per lead with an Ohm meter. The resistance should be between 6 and 8 K Ohms. The black on the inside will show that some arcing has been taking place
