Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a 2010 Chevy Avalanche 5.3 flex
fuel 6 speed transmission, when driving, my
oil pressure will drop from 40psi to 30psi is
this normal for this vehicle? Where is the
typical oil pressure at on this vehicle?

I have an 07 flex and it does the same thing when it goes from v8 to v4 mode, if you think it’s an issue you may want to replace the oil pressure sensor switch and the small screen underneath it, the screen is very important!

I don't have an answer, mine runs at 80 psi. Is this normal?

Did you ever determine what your standard Oil Pressure was? I have a 2010 Avalanche, and mine has the same issue. Which may not be an issue but when first start of the day idle is around 30PSI and Driving is around 40-45PSI.. Once you drive enough idle droves to around 20-25 and driving around 35-40.. Just curious if that should be normal I have the Flex Fuel vs that drops between v8 & v4.
