Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I removed c-clips from rear end but axle won't come down at all. Feels like something is holding it back. Afraid to hit it or use pry bar. I've never encountered this problem before. I'm trying to remove differential and replace with posi-traction on my 2010 GMC Sierra pickup.

c-clip is in the carrier. Maybe the anti-lock ring that sits on the axle is somehow a problem.

@mare49jives...what did you find on this eventually. I have the same thing. That damn c clip is out...but the axle won't release. It really feels the same way it did when the c-clip was in there
