My husband has a 2010 Dodge PU 1500. His truck had the no-crank issue and with his limited knowledge of vehicles he figured out the ignition was at fault and the dealer recomended a new WCM. He did not however look up how this part and his old key would work, although thevdealer did mention in passing with a smirk, that he'll "probably" need to bring it in to get flashed. So instead of looking up possible solutions such as the battery disconnect or the cleaning of the main board inside he paid 405.00 and walked thinking he could just plug the part in and it would run again as usual. So obviously I am in this forum b/c it didn't work. My questions are... does one program the key to the new WCM or the new WCM to the key? Is either programmable without going to a dealer? Any response is appreciated, Desperate wife yrying to calm angry husband

I called a lock smiths for a mustang one time I don't remember who it was I called but they came out and programed the key for me and they was a lot cheeper than the dealer.

Thank you! TWilliams1380, such a great idea... at least it's another option!
