My husband has a 2010 Dodge PU 1500. His truck had the no-crank issue and with his limited knowledge of vehicles he figured out the ignition was at fault and the dealer recomended a new WCM. He did not however look up how this part and his old key would work, although thevdealer did mention in passing with a smirk, that he'll "probably" need to bring it in to get flashed. So instead of looking up possible solutions such as the battery disconnect or the cleaning of the main board inside he paid 405.00 and walked thinking he could just plug the part in and it would run again as usual. So obviously I am in this forum b/c it didn't work. My questions are... does one program the key to the new WCM or the new WCM to the key? Is either programmable without going to a dealer? Any response is appreciated, Desperate wife yrying to calm angry husband 2 Answers

Up until yesterday the oil gauge in my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 would go to 0 - the check gauges lite would come on and pressure would be restored just as quickly as it had been lost. Yesterday, the truck won't start at all - all gauges seem to be OK except the oil gauge - nothing happens when I turn the key. Could this be the oil pump? 5 Answers

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 4.7 Sport. I recently put in a new/used motor because my old one had a bad crankshaft. So after getting new motor in I started the truck and it ran great. I only ran it for about 5 seconds because I noticed I had a broken transmission line. I went back the next day and fixed the line. I went to start the truck back up and nothing happened. No click no nothing, everything lights up on dash. My engine light comes on and blinks about tens times than stays steady. My gear selections are all lit up. Does anyone know the do it yourself solution? 1 Answer

I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT with the 4.7. The plugs for the 4.7 have a reach of 3/4". I believe my mechanic may have installed the plugs for the 5.7 hemi which are 1" in reach. My truck went into the shop perfectly fine and came out with the engine knocking. Is it possible that the 1/4" difference in length caused the pistons to strike the longer, incorrect plugs hence, that caused the knock? The shop admitted to me that the wrong plugs had been ordered. When asked if it was possible that they may have installed the incorrect ones, they told me that the thread size wasn't the same. Well, truth be told, it is the same size thread. Thanks for any input! 2 Answers
