little trick no longer works.. can someone plz tell me wat
may have caused it something I could look for or even how
to repair it because im lost on where to even start..

It needs a trip to the service department as there is a problem with the transmission.

Tarago_829, I had the same problem when I went to replace my shifter pack, the new shifter pack came from Advance Auto it was the correct fit for the truck but one small detail can make a difference: there's about 4 to 6 electrodes on the shifter pack they have to make contact with the valve body, the new part did not have the electrodes so I ended up having to put the old part back on

Fill up your plastic water overflow reservoir next to your radiator. I don't know how but it works.

I have a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 and my truck was fine when I got work. When it was time to come home it wouldn’t come out of 4th gear. I drove it home in limp mode and couldn’t get up my drive way. When I backed it up then it came out of 4th gear. Does anyone know if it may have reset itself

It could be a failing tipm. Pronounced tip-um. Stands for totally integrated power module. My 09 ram 1500 started randomly shifting to 4th and staying there despite me trying to manually shift out. I found that starting the truck in neutral worked for a while. And then neutral start had to be combined with a quick shift to gear and turn cruise control on. Not setting a speed, but just turning cruise on helped it to shift through all gears normally, for a while... but at this point, my trans fluid is gritty and my torque converter is probably trashed from carrying all the weight. Further research pointed to I have most the signs of a failing tipm. Dodge has done several recalls on many of their lines due to bad tipm modules. Worth a look to possibly avoid unnecessary repairs. Hope this helps.
