Why 18 inch wheels?

Asked by Ed Aug 25, 2010 at 08:51 AM about the 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS 4WD

Question type: General

Low profile tyres seem a peculiar choice for dirt (gravel) roads? Anyone know why
the wheels were changed from 16 to 18 inch.  Am considering fitting the 16 inch
wheels (if I can find a set) with tyres that would give a better "baloon" effect on
rough terrain. Anyone done this?

Where abouts in the world are you, swap may be impractical - but what I need

Bad luck! I'm in Johannesburg, South Africa and the freight will make the swap not viable, but thanks for the contact

Are you still looking for a set of 16 inches? I've been looking for a set of 18" to replace my 16" that came with the LS model. I'm in Quebec, Canada though...
