Question type: General

I purchased a new F 150 V8 after retirement.  The vehicle is a 2010 with
54,000 current miles driven.  Normal use is probably 2 miles round trip each
day with one trip weekly about 22 miles round trip.  I am called anal when it
comes to maintenance with oil changes every 5 K miles-full synthetic,
transmission service every 30K, coolant changes every 10K miles, etc.  The
question is should I drive more?  Are infrequent driving trips harmful to the
engine?

Look under the oil cap and see if you have a white greasy build up. If u do then u need to drive more so the engine warms up better. If not then your driving is fine. Also it’s not necessary to change the coolant every 10k, and if you are not changing it your self the guy doing it, is probably jus sucking whatever is in the bottle and adding about 1/2 gallons. Back to the bottle.

Maybe change the oil once a year and cut back on the coolant changes as city life recommended.
