F150 door latch

I have a 2010 f150,    the door latch is open but it
won't latch the pin?    It's lined up and I can move
the latch with a screw driver     door won't close

The latch in the door, try holding the outside handle up while resetting the latch. It is probably in the closed position.

I think that you are going to have to disassemble the unit and find the spring out of place~....possibly replace the defective latch~

This is a known problem in F150's and can be fixed by adding a washer and screw so that the spring doesn't fall off in the future. Ford likely to charge you $100 for this fix! This quick video explains the FREE fix. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWp_IudYLUo
