Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2005 Ford Focus Z4 automatic, it always runs rough, as soon as you turn it on it starts revving high as if one was pressing the accelerator, the whole car rattles from the vibrations. It also shuts off every time you come to a stop, then I have to switch to neutral start it up and switch back to drive, doesn't happen when I come to a stop very very slowly. It also shuts off if a go over one of those really wide speed pumps too fast.

I haven't taken it to see if there are any DTC. This is one of my father's old cars, and quite honestly I don't trust any mechanic in my area. Never had one properly diagnose the problem or take care of the issue, but it seems it always acquires a new problem after leaving the shop.

Possible your idle control valve. You can either clean it or replace if it doesn't work.
