Check Engine Light & Slip Indicator Light

Asked by GuruWXZ2F Apr 28, 2018 at 09:24 AM about the 2010 Dodge Charger SXT RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Along with both of those lights on, my car jerks
when I release the gas pedal. I took it to autozone
and the only code that came up was to fix the cam
shaft. Took it to an auto place and they fixed the
cam shaft and the crank shaft I think is what they
said bc they work together. Well an hour later I’m
driving my car, both lights are still on and it’s still
doing the jerky thing when I release the gas pedal..
help!

I supposed that the shop replaced the camshaft and crankshaft sensors in the car, but you keep having the same problem, take it back to them and tell them that it is not fixed. The shop gave you a written warranty....I hope.

Yeah I’m taking it back up today, I don’t think it has any type of warranty sadly. I just didn’t know if anyone had any better suggestions! Thank you!

Yes, don't delay if you did not get a warranty, but I suppose that if it is a reputable place, they will not give you a hard time. You followed the code but, the jerking or surges can be caused from the throttle blade not closing all the way. Over time you can build up carbon on/in the throttle body or on the throttle body blade causing it to NOT close properly which can cause a surge do to the air being pulled in unevenly. This is also known as a coke buildup. Many times, just cleaning it fixes the problem.
