inch wheels fit my car? What’s the widest I

Yes. Check offset vs. width data with tirerack. These early Imps lack the power to gain any benefit from bigger than 20-215 on 7.5" wheels. If you bump offset out with wider wheels to fit you'll probably eat wheel bearings early and maybe screw-up turn-in too.
