What could be causing my problem?

Asked by Panda_5079 Feb 25, 2017 at 08:40 AM about the 2005 Ford Focus ZX3 SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2005 Ford Focus makes a grinding/shuddering noise just the second before it comes to a complete stop. No shudder when I push the brake pedal, no grinding otherwise. Front pads look good and back brakes were replaced within the last couple of years.

Make sure you are looking at the inside of the brake pads on the front, the one next to the piston of the caliper on both sides. Could be a frozen brake caliper, otherwise it would be more than likely a wheel bearing, or a CV joint in the front axle.
