And, this guy is an expert who evaluates all kinds of cars, CVTs are not scary.
Talk about confirmation bias, Grasshopper.... John's piece is fun, but he mistakes power for torque a couple of times to crucially show a misunderstanding in the management of CVTs. As well he states that CVT fluid costs a hundred bucks per liter!! Maybe down under?! But the critical errors are ones of omission: the durability is only as good as that of its control components (electrical), seals, and especially torque converter...all of which are problem areas with Subaru's iteration. Fun piece, but only for entertainment....
