Audi a4 2010

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Cel was on. Thought it was gas cap. Then when i
messed with it, cel went off. As time went buy it
came back on and same things happened .. Long
story short. The car was running like new the next
day felt like a miss fire cel came back on wasnt
flashing made to auto zone bought coil packs for
all 4 tryed to start and nothing. Now cel and ecp
came one ..ended up replacing all of the packs and
new spark plugs in the parking lot still no fire up.
Got the car towed back home and at square one
again. Thinking letting battery be unplugged for the
night to hopefully clear the computer.. If not going
to get code reader and read all this mess.. Anyone
have any ideas??  We have spent alot into this car
and im getting over it really quick i had a bmw
same problems and what i explained fixed the
problem before..

throwing parts at a car doesn't always do the trick. to properly scan the codes you either need a rosstech cable as a odb only grabs surface issues. have the car scanned with a rosstech software or by a audi/vw specialist shop and then trouble shoot from there. as far as i can tell tho with most of these model of engines is they are not to relativly picky when it comes to strating. get the codes bring them here before replacing anything else. I am sure the plugs and coils helped but there is something else going on. in the mean time check the crank case hoses for blocage and see if the turbo is still functioning right and is not full or oil. easiest way to check that is remove the air box and remove the hose from under the turbo that leads to the throtle body. Also grab a rag and clean off the throtle body plate for good measure. you can use the maf sensor cleaner on this. if you remove it be sure to buy a gasket before doing so
