Auto Air conditioner evaporator - 2010 Ford escape limited

Asked by happygyrl Oct 07, 2016 at 02:37 PM about the 2010 Ford Escape Limited FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car had a hissing sound when air conditioner is on then stopped blowing
cold air.  I took it to recharge the air and was told it could probably be a slow
leaking evaporator. It blows out cold air but still making hissing noise.  How
can I be sure it's a leaking evaporator or just a leaking hose?

You will have to add some freon / refrigerant that has dye in it will pinpoint where leak is. If you can hear hissing leaking out pretty fast was going to suggest using freon stop leak but leaking out to fast.
