2010 Ford Escape check engine light came on just after reaching 75,000 miles. Car seems to be running fine, not overheating and engine not missing that I can tell. What could be cause for light?

There were no other prior trouble messages or lights.  There was a significant outside temperature change over a 5 day period (from 50 degrees to 32 degrees).

it is probably the EVAC system (vapors from gas tank, an EPA issue), it is just fine, if that is the case, AutoZone can do a free diagnostic for you, but it doesn't have anything to do with running of car, if that is the issue, I had it on mine and check engine light keeps coming on and off, it would NOT pass inspection if in Calif or DC, though
