Why is my engine light on?

Asked by May 23, 2017 at 09:58 PM about the 2010 Ford Escape XLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just brought this vehicle this past week. I also
brought it with the engine light on and ABS light on.
The car is so quiet and drive so smooth. I have
absolutely no trouble what so ever with this truck. I
took it to AutoZone for them to do the code reader,
and I got a code for A crankshaft timing???? But
the car is fine! Should I be worried?? And the car
does have a savage title.

If it's a higher mileage car it could possibly be a worn timing chain. I'd have it looked at by a pro. The ABS light could be just a wheel speed sensor. HTH. -Jim
