Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Summer of 2015 I had no air
conditioning. Took it to a
mechanic, they put dye in it,
recharged it with freon and
sent me home. Had air
conditioning for 3 days and
then nothing. They found the
leak, repaired it and recharged
with freon. By September I had
no more air conditioning. Did
not deal with it because winter
is coming. It's now February
2017, no air conditioning. I
hear very loud fans in front of
my Escape near the radiator. It
is so loud that the guy at the
pharmacy drive-thru cannot
even hear me. Does anybody
have any ideas

If cooling fans are bad, you will hear them all the time, when engine reaches temperature, not only with a/c on, perhaps the noise is coming from a bad air compressor clutch although fans turn on as soon as you turn on the a/c. Verify where the noise is coming from
