If I by pass my leaky heater core, can I still use my defroster

Had car checked by mechanics and the found a leaky heater core. If I by pass
the heater, can I still use my defroster.

There will be no heat but you can use your AC to help clear your window.

There is a hose "in" as well as "out" from a heater core so you would have to bypass to each other. just saying in the event you didn't know this. Like the previous answer though.. you wont have heat to defrost but the fan will still blow from heater core box
