Asked by Josh May 31, 2016 at 07:34 PM about the 2010 Buick Enclave CXL1 FWD

Question type: General

I just bought a 2010 Buick Enclave with 60,000
miles on it drove it for 3 weeks the check engine
light came on and the car started to cut off took it
to the shop and they said it was reading misfire on
5 and 6 and reading code for 30 which means it
needed a front catalytic converter I just took the
front converter off and it is completely Hollow has
no baffles inside so I took the exhaust off all the
way to the resonator and there is nothing inside no
pieces from the converter is it possible that the
pieces melted

No. Its possible someone gutted the converter(s) before your purchase thats the likely cause...Less costly than changing them and If they were "blocked" they can be broken up and out quite easily so I've have heard! THEY DID NOT MELT
