2010 Equinox idling rough

Asked by missyequinox Aug 01, 2017 at 02:51 PM about the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox 1LT FWD

Question type: General

I bought a 2010 Equinox in 2013.  It drank oil and I didn't even think about it being covered under anything bc I bought it from a used lot.  Anyways, I put 3 quarts of oil in it between regular oil changes.  The fuel pump got recalled and somehow that fixed the oil problem.  Now it idles rough, like it wants to die.  I just paid the thing off, do you think the motor is ruined d/t the oil issues that listed for years??

Check for engine codes, you may have a clogged catalytic converter due to excessive burnt oil

Yes could be Cat... with that much oil burning. Check engine codes. Look for P0 420 error code which means Catalytic converter is bad.
