2010 Cadllac SRX - My battery drains because the fan will not stop going after the car is
off. It takes about 15 min and my car is battery is completely dead. Hopefully, its still
covered under GMPP? Happened this weekend when out of town. Saturday night and
Sunday, no GM locations open on Saturday when it was noticed, as it was after 6pm.
and they were closed on Sunday.

Thanks for your response. I hope whatever it is, its covered under the GMPP warranty.
I have been having the same issue I took it to Chevy because that's where i bought the car, got a new battery and a new push to start and guess what 2 days latter it did the same exact thing again I have had the car park for like 2 months now I am so frustrated will never buy a Cadillac again.

I'm having the same problem with my 2010 SRX frustrated don't know what to do
Well it was my fan relay and a ton of other relays. The total fix was over 3,000 but it was covered under my GMPP Hopefully you still have a warranty. I have since sold the car.

This really sucks. I bought a Cadillac because I was told it was easy and wouldn't have the problems that my jag had. The electrical problems on this car are just as bad OK we'll maybe not just as bad but they're freaking bad as my jaguar.

Oh and yes, my fan just started draining my battery
I sold that car and will not buy another Cadillac. I have driven an Infiniti QX60 for the past two years. No issues. Not as visually appealing but definitely a great car and awesome ride.

Will changing out the fan relay switch fix this issue? It is something that can done in our garage right? Cadillac here screwed us over and i refuse to go them again. I can't see spending 3 grand on this repair. Thanks. Deirdre B
I have a 2012 Cadillac CTS and for some time I've had a problem with the radiator fan staying on for 5 minutes after the engine shutdown and running the whole time the engine was running also during this time my cruise control wouldn't work also it was throwing codes for O2 sensors well I found out today that during an oil change somebody left the barometer sensors unplugged that fixed everything check for stuff left unplugged during oil changes
lclaiborne2005, Had the same problem, Autozone has a fan relay for $11.95 which worked perfectly for my SAME PROBLEM!

My 2013 SRX after coming home from a short trip The fan would not go off ... my husband changed out the 2 relay fuses they were 22.99 each at auto zone It is now working just fine ... the Cadillac place told me if you start the car with the old fuses in and then take the fuses out while the car is running ...then kill the motor if the fan goes off then it's the relay fuses .
Same problem here, except Ken Batchelor Cadillac in San Antonio is trying to sell me a new radiator, cooling fan and relay switch for $4,160.00! I'm going to AutoZone to buy the relay switch for $18.99 and see it works out.
Same problem with my 2010 SRX: The first time the fan ran-on after engine turn off, I pulled the Fan #1 fuse, and it cleared the problem. It just happened again, 6 months later, but the fuse pull did not clear the trouble. I pulled the two big Fan relays with no success. I finally noticed there was a fan #3 relay (marked HI POWER, GM #13500114, 8385, rectangular, not square like #1 and #2 fan relays). I pulled fan relay #3 and the fan shut off. That relay was discolored and obviously the problem. That relay seems to get hotter than the other two relays.
I can't find the relay marked High power... I did find 2 mini relays marked cooling fan 1 and cooling fan 2... So i have 2 cooling fan fuses and 2 cooling fan realays which ones do i Have to replace
I'm sitting here reading the diagram on the inside of my fuse box and it says to replace cooling fan fuses change 41 and 45 problem is there is no fuses labeled 41 or 45???

My 2010 SRX cooling fan would not shut off when turning car off. Per intsruction from this forum, I pulled number 45 fuse underneth the hood which stopped the fan. Then I looked at fan relay switch #12 and it was burned out. I went to Cadillac bought the fan relay switch for $18.00 and replaced it. Replacing the fan relay switch fixed the problem and was quick and easy. Response date 9/12/19
