Occasionally car won't start in park but if I shift to neutral it starts.

I have replaced the battery and the problem still occurs about once a month.
Is this a neutral safety issue??

That switch is adjustable, sounds like it's not adjusted correctly. Disconnect the battery before crawling under there!

Automatic or Standard Transmission? Is there a Security System installed on this vehicle? Any warning lights ON or Flashing?
