engine shut off after low oil pressure light came on

i have 09 X5 3.0 and message on the dash is said low oil pressure and I put oil in it then it said oil level ok, but after driving few miles message came back and car turned off. what just happend?

Low oil level or low oil pressure? You seem to be using the terms interchangeably which they are not. If the oil PRESSURE is low and the oil LEVEL is good then you have a serious problem with your engine.

2017 bmw x5 ran dry on oil an low oil pressure light came on , topped it up an now won’t start starter turned once an then it skips all pulleys is turning ok so it’s not seizes , anyone know what the problem is

Tried to start my 05 BMW X5 one morning and it cranked but would not start. Checked oil and it was low. Added oil to proper level and the car started. The BMW has an oil level safety switch that prevents engine damage if the oil is low.
