According to page 18 of your owners manual it means: power train malfunction/reduced power/electronic throttle control(RTT). It displays when engine defaults to a "limp home" operation or transmission problem has been detected and shifting may be restricted. If the light remains on have the system serviced immediately by your authorized dealer.

What he said. :)~ The computer has backed off of the horse power in an attempt to prevent damage (or further damage) or perhaps to lower the possibility of an unsafe condition. You'll need a pro on this.

It means diesels with their new eco-friendly technologies these days are crap! A helpful thread would be explaining how to bypass the shit entirely

My F-350 Super Duty Platinum just displayed "REDUCE ENGINE POWER" on the display screen on dash. It kicked the cruise control off. I was pulling a 40' Toyhauler at 60 MPH on the I-10 towards Texas. I pulled over as I didn't have a clue. Shut the engine off and restarted and now I have the engine symbol displayed on right hand gauge. Engine reved up OK so I was going to drive it to an exit. Seemed to run OK so I continued to our destination. Checked oil and transmission and put in some DEF but it only took about 1/2 gallon as I had already filled it before our trip. Started it back up and the engine light is now out. Must be some glitch in the electronics. Don't know if that helps you but it solved my problem.

Reduced power script came on and of course the Engine Icon lite up. And indeed there was reduced power. Wass not DEF- it was full. Pulled over, turned off and restarted and power came back up but icon stayed lit. Happen multiple times between Iowa and Louisiana. BTW Had just spent about $800 having the 160K mile service done. Spent an additional $450 replacing the fuel filter at a Ford Dealer. Got 40 miles and it happens again. Kept pulling off re-starting engine. Got to Dallas from Baton Rouge and had Ford keep it two days, checked it out found nothing. Said they test drove it for an hour and could not duplicate problem. Re-Set the engine error codes and sent me off. Got 10 minuted down the highway and it happen again. Was on a deadline to trip to Oklahoma City then back home to Pensacola Florida. Had it into Ford Dealer again, $800 for a new fuel pump and still have the same issue. Strange it happen immediately after 160K servicing that is fluid replacements. QUESTION: Could it be something else other then fuel pressure problems? What about it possibly being the turbo or transmission? Spent $about $1,600 so far and no answers.

2019 F-350 Larriat hauling 40' Toy Hauler @ 65MPH (~ 16k weight) from Vegas west to LA; Coming across Mojave with external air temp was 103 degrees, I too received reduced power indicator for the first time: Transmission temp 220-222; not knowing what the error meant, I pulled off next exit and turned off engine to let it set for 15 minutes; upon restart; check engine light was still illuminated but I continued on my way at least to get to Barstow where a Ford dealership would be available. I continued past Barstow and made it Irvine (mainly down hill grade) and truck felt ok except for the illuminated check engine light.... I reached my destination and unhitched the trailer and let the engine cool down for 90 minutes... being closer to the ocean the air temp was in low 80s....went out for dinner and light was now not lit.....; not sure where this issue stands but will be watching it closely....note: I did check the transmission on the way back from dinner and it was at 204 degrees.... It may be that the power train doesn't like those high ambient desert temperatures.... since I live in Jackson Hole, this is the first experience for this dually crossing a desert ; it only has 14,000 miles on it...

I’ve got a 2019 F350 single wheel. I was experiencing the same problem.. loss of power.. blah blah blah... I was at my deer lease is SW Texas and The Ford dealership in Uvalde Texas found my problem. There are 3 sensors from the manifold to rear tailpipe tip. It was one of those sensors malfunctioning. I don’t remember which one. And I do t remember the code! Hopefully this will help narrow it down somewhat!
