Where is the camshaft position sensor on a 09 GMC Sierra v6

I bought the sensor just can find wher is located at

The camshaft sensor is underneath the distributor cap. Follow the wires from spark plug goes right to cap. You will need a 10 or 15 torx screw driver which well remove the cap and the camshaft sensor. Screws to camshaft sensor are really tight so make sure you have a good torx screw driver and the right size very easy to strip screw head.

Sorry about that the information I gave you was for a 8 cylinder looks like the 6 cylinder is in a different area. Just did one on a 8 cylinder that is why I know where that one is located thought 6 was the same but it is not.

Google your question there may be a video on utube showing you the location of camshaft sensor.

Found a video on utube on where the camshaft sensor is on your vehicle and it is where I suggested in my first answer under the distributor cap.

I have a 2008 silverado 4.3 the eighth letter in the Vin is an X. The camshaft sensor is located behind the water pump. My ? is do you have to remove the water pump to replace the sensor?
