Power locks on 2009 Toyota Highlander hybrid

Hoping someone can help with this.
Yesterday I noticed that when I locked my
doors with the remote on my 2009 Toyota
Highlander Hybrid that the rear drivers side
didn't lock. Didn't think much of it, but
went to lock the doors with remote again
today and now only the rear passenger
seat worked. No noise even. I thought
maybe the remote battery was needing to
be replaced so tried to use the power lock
switch on the drivers door to lock all the
doors, but again nothing happened.
Stopped at our Toyota dealer on the way
home and paid $113.40 to be told that 3 of
the actuators are shorted and will cost me
almost $1900.00 to have them replaced.
From the online sites I've read, it seems
highly unlikely that I would have all 3
motors go out at the same time. There also
was no buzzing sound or noise before they
stopped working. We've checked the fuse
and replaced the battery in the remote.
Has anyone else had a similar experience
or have any suggestions??

It would not be the remote battery if even from inside switches doesn't work. remove inner panel and check if each motor is getting proper voltage when energized. If they are getting proper voltage, then you would have to replace motors, but they can't be that expensive

Thanks for the response! We will try that. I was shocked by the price of the actuators/motors as well. And puzzled by why the cost is slightly different for each. Toyota quoted left front is $612., right front $589., and left rear $601. We called an AutoZone near us and they are $250-264 each. Thanks again.

Ok, so checked the motor on one door and it's working. I'm guessing the others are as well. So what else could it be? I've seen comments about relay boards but when I try to look up that part for this car there isn't one listed.

Most likely one of the motors is burnt and shorting out the system. Disconnect one at a time to find out which one is doing it. Once u find it, remove the motor from assembly and look up the part # and go to ebay, you'll find it for less than $10. This is a motor part # for a 2005, don't know if your would be the same but just an example...Mabuchi Nichibo Flat Shaft - Standard Length Motor FC-280PC-22125
