Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Electronic Throttle System light came
on the other day and my car went into limp
mode, I got a new Electronic Throttle Body
for it, but when we took the old one out it
doesn't look like it has gone bad... What
else could be wrong that my car would
turn that light on, and my car would not
speed up and when it goes over 5 mph it
shakes a bit?

Did you install the new throttle body and it did not fix problem ? Or did you wait on installing it because the throttle body looked good ?

I installed the new throttle body, the old one was quite dirty, I am going to clean it up and see if it works better, but my car is still limping, and will not speed up above 5 mph, it is also idling terribly... The entire car shakes while it is idling. I also found an issue while changing the part out... I had brought my car in to get an oil change a few months back and they changed my air filter... But never put a new filter in, what kind of problems can that cause? I live on a dirt road so 3 months without an air filter seems like it could be pretty bad.
