Ford escape 2005 inertia switch, can a older or newer year switch be used in a 2005? and Can a universal switch be used?

I'm having great difficulty trying to locate a switch for the year of my truck and I am
coming up with nothing. I don't know much about cars but was able to locate the problem
after a mechanic had my truck 3 times and found nothing wrong and couldn't explain why
I was having isses with the car shutting off

as long as electrical connections are connected
