It seems right after the mechanic tighten the manifold my s40R volvo now
seems to shake underneath. I had my old mechanic to check and he first
thought that the flex hose was lose but turned out that it was in tacked. Not
sure what it is but it's driving me crazy! Any ideas?

Intake manifold or exhaust manifold? A leaky intake manifold will make your car run terrible. If it is warped you will need a new one but it might just need a new gasket.

I agree.. but can see no way no how torquing the intake manifold would have anything to do ' to shake underneath' but some feedback would help us help you. Why would either need to be tightened? what was the problem?
