2009 Silverado Oil Pressure Issues

Asked by KyleCramer Jan 28, 2017 at 01:31 AM about the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello, sometimes when I drive fast or take off
quickly, my oil pressure drops to 0 from my usual
40-45 reading. When it drops, the engine does not
make any noises. I have taken out the screen that
gets clogged protecting the sensor I believe, but not
much was there. Any ideas on what could be going
on?

This would depend on when you take your foot of the gas, how far does the RPM's drop? And it is important to either replace that screen under the oil pressure sending unit, or clean it. Also I would change out the oil pressure sending unit since you are there.
