What would cause a brake pedal on a 2009 Ford Fusion to suddenly go soft while brake was being applied? No visual fluid leak and not leaking at reservoir, which is mostly full.

Asked by LanceCL Oct 18, 2014 at 06:31 PM about the 2009 Ford Fusion SEL V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Driving off freeway, and at the bottom of the ramp continued thru, applying brakes
moderate to heavy, pedal suddenly went to floor, but I was still able to stop the car. Pedal
is still soft and goes almost to floor, but still stops, so far. Haven't been driving it since.
