Question type: Car Customization

If so is it just a bolt on or is it a little bit more technical than
that

Vortec and other companies make a supercharger kit that comes with everything you need to make it run. It's worth about 50% more horsepower.

But the gtp supercharger is affordable...so if I go with the gtp supercharger what all it will take? Capn_steve what is the going price for the vortec n is that more easier to install?

The GTP was a 3.8 Liter Transverse mount V6. There are not any manifolds that I am aware of that will work with the ls motors and the Eaton supercharger designed solely for that application. The eatons also made modest boost for the 231 Cubic inch (3.8L) V6. You would have to invest a lot of time into Machining/fabricating, Pullies, belt tensioners. Brackets.Air induction systems. Matching fuel pump and injectors. Plus custom tuning. All that equals a ton of time and money. Even though the Supercharger is relatively cheap. It's not all you would need to make it work. Magnuson makes a complete kit, It is a roots style supercharger. Which means it has two helical screws inside that mesh together to make boost. This is the traditional style of "Blower" The kit weighs in at around $7000 US. This is a complete system And an experienced installer can do it in one day. Though this is not really a beginners DIY project. If you have some abilities, a good selection of tools, and a few friends to help out. It will take a long weekend to complete. Magnuson also will need your computer mailed to them so they can do the tuning. This is included in the kit cost. But like all major upgrades I strongly suggest that you let a local and reputable speedshop handle the tuning using hp tuners software and a chassis dyno. To wring every bit of power out of your upgrade. Pro chargers makes several complete kits that are equally easy to install. These types are Centrifugal style. Think of it as a belt driven turbo. The 8 psi kit which is what i recommend be the most boost a stock engine should see. Will give you 50-60 percent more horsepower and a much flatter torque curve. This one is similarly priced at around 7k. I hope this info helps. Feel free to ask questions if I left anything out.
