I have a p0711 code, the transmission slips on take off. Is it safe to drive home 180 miles?

car has 190000 miles never had any transmission work and this just started
today.  Fluid level is fine but color is dark.  Just want to get it home to have it
checked for possible TFT sensor bad or something else
