Power steering cut off while I was driving

I was driving home
and all of a sudden
all dash lights come
on and  I lost power  
steering, car was still
running.  I parked
and  clicked  key to
on and then off. I
waited for few mm.
Then the lights went
off and car started
,but happened next
few minutes,  
headlights dimmed

Sounds like you lost your serpentine belt! Open the hood and look, if no belt then you have no power steering or alternator (which explains why lights dimmed). As soon as the battery is spent you won't have any electrical power. Getting a belt replaced or serviced isn't expensive, but the belt also runs the water pump and without that you can cause damage to the motor, so get it looked at and don't drive it. If you can't afford a tow in addition to the mechanics call up a mobile mechanic service or someone who is handy.
