Chevy Malibu Transmisson Failure
Hello everyone I have a 2009 Chevy Malibu with 57,000 miles. I was driving on the highway going about 65mph. I tried to pass another car and stepped on the gas to get around them. While doing so my transmission gave out and lost power for about a minute. The Speedometer went from 3 1/2 grand to almost 8 grand and started bouncing up and down. A warning light came on saying either service transmission or traction. I do not recall which on it stated. The light stayed on for a bit until the transmission gained power again then it went away. I was able to continue driving another 10 miles to get to my job. Does anyone have any knowledge of what might be the cause of this issue?
Low fluid level or a solenoid, or other sensor. Have a garage inspect it. I suspect you have a check engine light on?
The check engine light went away after a few minitues. A few weeks ago I got a check engine light for Exhaust camshaft solenoid P0014. The light went away and never came back. Engine Oil level was fine.
