How reliable are 2nd Gen Cobalt SS?

Asked by GuruD7VLH Sep 25, 2017 at 11:31 AM about the 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm looking to get a 2009 cobalt SS turbo charged
with 87,000 miles on it that I'm looking to keep for
the next 5+ years. I know Chevys aren't expensive
to maintain but I don't want to  constantly keep
going to the mechanic for issues so I just wanted to
know how reliable would the car be on me. Any
issues, small or major.

First consider how many miles a year you drive. If you drive 12k a year your car will have 147k miles on it in 5 years. I would not buy a car that wears out before it is paid off. As far as reliability it is probably average at best.

Hey did you get your 09 SS? I am looking to buy an 09 ss with 96k miles. From my months of research they seem to be reliable and inexpensive to fix if they are cared for properly. How has yours help up? (Hoping you get this message lol)
