I recently spun a bearing in my 84SS....Put a 305 in it bcuz funds were low...now my tranny wont shift at the proper times. I have all gears and tranny fluid is good. The tranny ran fine before the overhaul but now not its revving way too high. Please can sum1 help me....what could be the problem.

Could be a bad vacuum modulator or it could just not be hooked up at all.

the cable adjustment for trans is very important it must be adjusted properly . if using same carb you just need to adjust .

i believe this post is spot on. i did a 305 to a 400 swap in my old camaro. cable needed adjusted. btw if you dont stop driving the car and get it done asap your tranny will need a rebuild.
