I had a hitch installed onto my 2008 GMC Acadia last summer and have hauled my 2005 Viking Popup with it. It handled fine. I do not have the full Tow package installed which would include the tranny cooler, larger radiator, tow button, or full sized spare, etc. The shop that installed my hitch says it can pull 5,000 lbs. My Owners manual says without the tow package it can haul 2,000 lbs. So unless I would have all that other stuff installed would it be safe or would my Acadia be able to pull at least 3,500 lbs. without the other stuff. The book says with the toy package it will pull 4,500 lbs. It's so scarey to think I may be pulling something that would be dangerous or hard on my vehichle.
