Rear ac blows air but not cool air

Asked by Colbert23 Jun 30, 2018 at 09:50 AM about the 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently put my vehicle the shop they first told me that it
my ac compressor was messed up but when I took it to
another vehicle to get the ac compressor changes they
found an actual leak when I fixed the leak the ac started to
working perfectly in the front but I’m the rest it only blows
air not hot or cold just air. I changed the rear blend door
actuator and still blows just air.

Had a similar issue, no cold air and diagnosed the problem to the rear expansion valve being clogged with some small debris and fine metal shavings. Initially thought to replace the entire system, but figured it would be cheaper to replace the valve, clean the rear evaporator and replace the dryer. The dryer is often overlooked. It is a filter! Don't overlook it. The dryer was original, 2007. 11 years old. If you are handy, do this job yourself. You will save $$$$$.
