Electrical problem

Asked by GuruYSL4R Mar 10, 2018 at 08:56 PM about the 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2008 grand caravan and when the van was
parked the horn and the wipers and most of the
electrical system was going haywire. I was
wondering what would cause this and what the fix
would be?

massive short(s), bad or missing electrical grounds, corrosion or water in a fuse box or module casing, bad body control module, just to name a few reasons, only way to know is a thorough inspection of the wire harnesses.

We have a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. It does the exact thing when the Driver side sliding door is opened. It started going crazy. Lights flashing, wipers on, etc. I'm going to try to mess with the wiring on the sliding door and check for shorts. I'm seeing recalls though for this so going to try that first.

Try checking ground wires. Running a secondary ground from negative battery terminal to starter bolt may help.
