2008 Silverado vortecmax v8 6.0

Asked by Sep 03, 2017 at 02:15 PM about the 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I have a 2008 Silverado vortec max. 2 months
ago my exhaust had a hole in it and my oil pressure
sensor went out. Fixed the hole in exhaust.
Replaced sensor and reset computer, everything
has been fine since until today. Two months later
I'm driving down the interstate for about 30 minutes
and notice a ticking noise. Only notice it when going
about 60mph and it only starts ticking after I've
been going 50mph or over for about 20 minutes. I
don't hear it at slower speeds or in park or neutral.
My destination was about an hour away and the
ticking was loud and clear the whole time until I got
off the interstate and the ticking stopped. Is it a lifter
sticking? Or an exhaust leak that came back?
Maybe the manifold? Not sure, any help pinpointing
it would be appreciated
