Honda Civic passenger window goes down but not up

Asked by Jennifer Jun 08, 2016 at 08:18 PM about the 2008 Honda Civic Coupe LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2008 Honda Civic. The passenger window
and rear passenger window will go down with out
any issues but will not go up. I hat hit the door
panel a couple times and it will go up without any
issues. If I hit the up switch 20+ times it will
eventually go up without any issues. The lights do
dim at times when trying to put them up. Any
suggestions? Switch/regulator?

Remove the door panel and inspect the wiring harness connectors and switch. LOOK, at the regular too.

If it works sometimes and not other times, It must be an electrical connection issue. Could be a loose connector OR a pin fit issue inside the connector. There are a lot of connections between the WIndow switch and window motor because it is controlled by the Drivers side main switch. Check to see if it works from one switch and not the other?..

It doesn't work from the drivers side door as well. I can put it down from that switch but not up :( I was hoping it wouldn't be a wiring issue. I read others where they said to change the switch on the drivers side door.

Take door panel off and blow the switch out with compressed air put it back together see if that works could save you alot of money

If both switches fail to make it go up then you have a week motor. Replace the window motor or motor and regulator as an assembly.

I have the same problem with honda civic 2004. Rear right door window goes down but not up. Changing the motor didn't help, changing the door switch didn't help, changing master (driver door) switch didn't help either. I don't know what else to do.

I used an air compressor and blew out the inside of the door switch itself and it is working awesome now has been good for over a year.

2002 hinda civic coup. Passenger window will go down but not up. Replaced the regulater thinking that was the problem. Driver door switch will not roll passenger window up or down, but will operate driver window just fine. Is there a physical wire that runs from driver switch to passenger switch? There is a red wire with a blue stripe that runs to both switches, this wire is either broken or its 2 different wires. I checked for continuity and got nothing. Help help help please
