Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My passenger sliding door Intermitently won't open/ release and makes an awful grinding noise. The dealer said in order to fix the problem, I'd need to replace the rollers for $228. I did that, but the problem didn't go away. I don't wnat to keep throwing money at this as they troubleshoot the problem on my dime.

Has anyone heard of this, or experieinced the same thing?

The dealer said they've never experienced this before, but I highly doubt it.

Thanks in advance.

sounds like the track the roolere rool on is groved out or rusted, try spraying some white lithium grease inside the track.it should quiet the grinding noise.

Thanks for the suggestion I will look into it. The problem is not so much the motor noise, as much as the door not opening. When this problem occurs, I need to either pull the handle or push the button again to try and reopen it.

I have had the same problem with no solution. I found I need to make sure to hold the handle long enough for it to open to avoid the grinding noise. It does not resolve the issue of grinding when you use the interior open button though. I have yet to have a mechanic offer a solution.
